Owner and Founder of Connected Care Family Counseling
Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist #91154
Registered Play Therapist-Supervisor
AAMFT Approved Supervisor
I received my Bachelor's Degree from the University of California, San Diego in Psychology and Cognitive Science. I then furthered my study by completing my Master's Degree in Marriage and Family Therapy at Alliant International University. While at Alliant, I had the privilege of studying abroad in several countries, and exploring international practices of mental health in India, Cambodia, and Mexico.
After receiving my Master's degree, I completed my clinical training in several non-profit agencies in San Diego County focusing on children and families, allowing me to become very familiar with San Diego County resources and and supports. Throughout my career development, I have been honored to participate in multiple trainings and certifications to further my practice including obtaining my Registered Play Therapist certification, expanding my education in attachment-based therapies, and parent education. Additionally, I have participated in developing research for trauma. You can learn more about my therapeutic approach here.

I became a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in 2015 and obtained credentials as a clinical supervisor in 2017. Being a therapist means being a life long learner. Currently I continue my education to enhance my skills as a clinician and a leader in the community by attending trainings, providing trainings, and being an adjunct professor at a local university.

When I am not working with clients, I can be found somewhere outdoors with my friends and family. I enjoy hiking and camping as a way to deeply relax and disconnect. I also enjoy visiting local libraries and reading, crafting and crocheting, and finding fun places to explore in San Diego with my daughter and partner.

Welcome! I’m thrilled you’re taking the first step towards a healthier, more fulfilling life. I am dedicated to supporting individuals and families through their unique challenges and celebrating their victories.

I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from UC San Diego and my Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy at the California School of Professional Psychology at Alliant International University. My educational journey has equipped me with the tools and knowledge to support my clients effectively. I specialize in Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and art and play therapy interventions, helping clients navigate through anxiety, depression, relationship conflicts, and behavioral issues.

My family systems-centered therapeutic style focuses on strengths and exceptions to the problem. I believe that the problem is the problem, not the client. Together, we can change your life narrative. I strongly believe that it is essential for therapists to maintain hope for meaningful change, as this collective hope fosters success in the therapeutic process.

Growing up in the San Francisco Bay Area, I was immersed in a family of helpers—my father was a firefighter, and my mother worked in schools. Their compassionate influence motivated me to pursue a career in therapy. Outside of my professional life, I enjoy traveling, building large LEGO sets, hiking, and visiting Disneyland, all of which inspire my creativity and passion for helping others.

Throughout my journey as a therapist intern at Rady Children’s Hospital Outpatient Psychiatry, I worked with clients ranging from age 5 to adults, extensively supporting families facing moderate to severe symptoms of anxiety, depression, behavioral challenges, and family communication. Before graduate school, I served as a Registered Behavioral Technician, providing Applied Behavioral Analysis services to children and families dealing with behavioral challenges, sometimes associated with Autism Spectrum Disorder.

I am committed to creating a safe, supportive environment where clients feel heard and valued. I tailor my approach to meet each client's individual needs, recognizing that everyone’s journey is unique. When you work with me, you can expect a collaborative process aimed at achieving specific outcomes tailored to your needs. I aim to empower you, helping you develop the skills and resilience necessary to navigate life’s challenges.

I am a proud first-generation Latina, born and raised in the Central Valley. I graduated from California State University, Fullerton, with a bachelor's degree in Psychology and Law. During my undergraduate studies, I had the opportunity to work with various non-profit organizations that focused on family reunification and working with at-risk youth.
My experience set the foundation for pursuing higher education. I completed my Master's degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from the University of San Francisco. My therapeutic approach is rooted in empathy, compassion and connection. I have experience working with individuals from a range of cultural backgrounds and ages who may be struggling with anxiety, depression, grief, life changes, behavioral issues and trauma. I use a client-centered approach as a foundation and combine therapeutic techniques from Cognitive Behavioral therapy, Play therapy, Attachment-based, Strength-based, and Narrative therapy. Through our work together, I hope to promote and strengthen resilience in order to overcome life's challenges.
When I’m not in the office, you can find me exploring San Diego’s treasures, reading, hiking and spending time with my two fur babies and watching basketball (go
Warriors!).
