Telehealth Services
What is Telehealth?
Telehealth is therapy conducted through technology — typically video or audio — allowing you to access care from the comfort of your own space. Sessions are held through an encrypted platform to ensure your privacy and security.
Are There Risks to Telehealth?
As with any use of technology, there are some considerations to keep in mind. Because we aren't in the same physical space, I'm unable to control your environment, which means there is a possibility that your confidentiality could be affected. To protect your privacy, I encourage you to choose a quiet, private space where you won't be interrupted. For your safety, I will also confirm your location at the start of each session in the event of an emergency.
Who is Telehealth Appropriate For? Can Kids See you Via Telehealth?
Everyone is welcome to meet with me via telehealth! I have experience working with clients of all ages in a virtual setting. Teens (12 and older) and adults generally thrive in this format, as they can independently manage the session with ease. For children under 12, I recommend that a parent or caregiver be present to help keep things comfortable and engaging. Shorter sessions may also be suggested for younger clients to make our time together as effective and positive as possible.
Can You Do Play Therapy Via Telehealth?
Absolutely! Play therapy can be done virtually, though it may look a little different from a traditional playroom setting. We'll engage in playful, creative activities together, and I may suggest gathering a few simple materials from around your home to make the experience more interactive. That said, in-person sessions are generally recommended for children under 12. If in-person isn't possible, we'll work together to determine whether telehealth play therapy is the right fit for your child.
Since You Are Using Telehealth, Can You Treat Anyone in Any Location?
I am licensed in both California and Arizona, which means I can provide therapy to clients physically located in either state. Please note that if you travel outside of California or Arizona — even temporarily — we may need to pause sessions until you return. I'm happy to discuss how this might affect your care if travel is a consideration.
Can I do a mix of in-person and telehealth?
Yes! Flexibility is important, and we can explore whatever combination works best for you at any point during your treatment. Just let me know what feels most comfortable, and we'll make it work.
